The Hôtel de l’Abbaye belongs to Somewhere to Meet, a company that designs, develops and operates hotels and residences. The environment and ecological transition are key concerns for Somewhere to Meet, which is committed to finding green solutions that respect our planet, both during construction and in the operation of its hotels.

At the Hôtel de l’Abbaye and at the restaurant Le Jardin de l’Abbaye, we take great care to forge partnerships with local producers to encourage short supply chains. The chef and his brigade draw their inspiration from the flavours of local, seasonal produce, highlighting the riches that our beautiful region has to offer.

OTHER CONCRETE EXAMPLES OF THIS COMMITMENT:

For the renovation and extension of the Ibis Treillières hotel to the north of Nantes, sorting the site’s waste was a real priority to reduce the site’s carbon footprint. It was entrusted to Tri’n’collect, a company that collects, recycles and/or re-uses building site waste. Since its reopening in August 2023, the Ibis hotel is saving up to 6 tonnes of CO2 a year thanks to its new thermal solar panels.

At the Kyriad hotel in Bouaye, the “Hélianthe” system recovers the calories stored by the sun’s rays in the asphalt of the car park to heat the water in the swimming pool and some of the hotel’s showers. The roof of the hotel has a large surface area of electricity-generating photovoltaic panels.
